The A3 steel strapping tool is a manual combination tool for tensioning and joining steel strap on flat packages without external power or separate buckles. If you strap heavy goods in manufacturing, metallurgy or transport, you know the material cost of buying buckles for every joint and the risk of running out mid-shift. This tool removes both problems.
Why you need an A3 steel strapping tool on the packing line
Every steel strap joint that uses a separate buckle or seal adds material cost. Over hundreds of joints per week, that spend adds up. When buckles run out, the packing line stops until someone restocks them. If a joint fails in transit, goods shift and arrive damaged. Tools that require mains power or compressed air tie your operators to a fixed workstation, and running cables or hoses to the load costs time on every cycle.
A manual tool that creates the joint without a buckle removes two problems at once: you stop buying fasteners, and you can strap wherever the load sits.
How the A3 steel strapping tool tensions and joins the strap
A two-stage booster structure inside the tool lets you tension steel strap with less manual effort. The joining method presses a yin and yang buckle form directly into the overlapping strap ends, locking them together without a separate seal or fastener. It applies a maximum tension force of 70 % to 80 % of the steel strip’s rated tensile strength, so joints hold during handling and transport.
All body parts and components are made from high-strength alloy material. The tool weighs 3.9 kg and measures 387 × 168 × 308 mm, making it easy to carry between workstations. Because this A3 steel strapping tool needs no external power, you can use it anywhere in your facility or on site.
Where this A3 steel strapping tool fits and where it does not
The tool is designed for flat packages in manufacturing, metallurgy and transportation:
- Pallets, bales, crates and cases
- Steel and aluminium bars
- Other heavy or sharp packages that require steel strap
It works only with steel strap. Plastic and textile strap require a different tool type. The A3 is fully manual with no motor or battery, which means no cables or hoses to route, but also no powered tensioning.
What to check before ordering your A3 steel strapping tool
- Strap material: steel only, with tensile strength between 700 and 850 N/mm²
- Strap width and thickness: confirm your strap falls within the ranges shown in the specifications table on this page
- No batteries, charger or power supply needed
- Included in the box: one A3 steel strapping tool and one set of replaceable accessories
